Every seventh man over 50 years suffers from prostate cancer. Timely detection of cancer is the key factor for its successful treatment. In this regard, the role of the diagnostic process has increased, which can be used to identify tumor development at early stages. Therefore, experts recommend that men over 50 years should make control tests to determine the content of the PSA (prostate specific antigen) in the blood every six months.
BEBIG Company assists hospitals to conduct free screenings of the population for the detection of prostate cancer at an early stage. On April 23, FSBI SSC "FMBC named after A.I. Burnazyan" together with BEBIG conducted screening, in which men had the opportunity to undergo a full examination by an urologist. 81 men underwent free of charge diagnosis at the urologist within 2 days. According to a survey, 32 people were directed to carry out PSA test; they were selected in compliance with several criteria: age, family history, complaints.
In the future, the company plans to continue to carry out activities for the promotion of early diagnosis of prostate cancer among the population of Russia.
