Sokolov FMBA (Federal Medical and Biological Agency), RUSSIA, ON 1000th OPERATION of prostate cancer brachytherapy successfully held on February 1. Prostate Cancer Brachytherapy Center CH No.122 named after L.G. Sokolov, FMBA of Russia, led by Professor S.I. Gorelov started its operation in October 2007. The peculiarity of the operations carried out here is the use of computer tomography for implant sources monitoring. The accumulated experience allowed the staff of the Centre to develop its own setting for the implantation of radiation sources, a patent of the Russian Federation was received.
