BRACHYTHERAPY FOR PROSTATE CANCER WITH IMPLANTATION OF IODINE-125 ISOTOPE MICROSOURCES PRODUCED BY BEBIG COMPANY WAS REGISTERED IN KAZAN
On November 18, State Autonomous Healthcare Institution “Republican clinical oncology dispensary of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Tatarstan” became the winner of the Federal stage of the competition with brachytherapy service (interstitial radiation therapy) for prostate cancer in the contest "Best goods and services of the Republic of Tatarstan" and the program "100 best goods of Russia".
State Autonomous Healthcare institution “Republican clinical oncology dispensary of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Tatarstan” became the winner of the Federal stage of the competition with brachytherapy service (interstitial radiation therapy) for prostate cancer with implantation of microsources based on iodine-125 isotope. The method is based on the introduction of microcapsules containing I-125 isotope into the prostate tissue. The indication for brachytherapy operation is the initial stage of prostate cancer. The implantation is carried out through the skin under ultrasound guidance. Brachytherapy provides good results similar to the results with the surgical treatment of prostate cancer. The patient is discharged from the hospital the day after the procedure, returning to normal life.
